11 Months and Counting

Oh my gosh, time has really flown by! Caleb, You are almost a year old now and we are so proud of you, but I will save the sappy stuff for your one year old post...get ready for a tear jerker lol.
Anyways, things have been going ok here, Caleb has discovered that he has an attitude...joy. He will not be dressed in the morning, noon, or night. He will not take a bottle. He will not take his juice straight from the fridge (I have to warm it first). He will not wear a diaper. He will not nap. He will not be restrained in his high chair. And he ignores the words ah ah ah and no....so...things have been just ok here. I think that it will get better after he learns to walk because I think that he is bored and frustrated at the world because everyone else is walking and he isnt. He is on the move though. He can stand now and he pulls himself up on everything and he is working on getting on the couch. He is also back to wanting cuddles, I miss that but I am happy to report that every once in a while he will let you get a snuggle in. :). He can feed himself very well now but doesnt want to be in the high chair for the entire meal...and would like his sippy in the middle of the affair. I have been really busy cleaning and getting around for his party so I have had little time to myself but it will be worth it when he digs into his cake and we get all the photos. Speaking of photos, we are taking the 3 generation photo with davids parents and my mom on saturday along with calebs 1 yr old pics. Hopefully if we do them that soon we can have them in by his birthday their by saving lots of $ in postage. Speaking of money, did anyone elses electric bill go up? ours more than doubled because they raised their rates! I dont know how they can do that to people. Rainy, a girl that I work with at meijer, brought over ther nephew Zander the other day and he played with Jack and Caleb, I think that Caleb enjoyed being around another kid. Hopefully some babies can come to his party so he can play. Anyways the laundry isnt going to do itself...

The First Haircut

I have been a little behind on the blog here for the past couple of weeks so I will try and get these up here in order.
Caleb got his first haircut at 11 months. He was a ragamuffin and I wanted him to look like a little man when it came time to get his one year old pictures done. I just trimmed the back and around the ears and he looks so handsome. We gave him a teething biscut so he wouldnt move around to much while I was cutting it, and he wanted to share it with grandma tonya so much, when she wasnt on the up and up he stuck what was left of the horrible mess into her mouth and all over her face and shirt...all of this was after her shower and everything of course. I taped it all so hopfully I can get it onto his DVD of the first year.

New This Week

This is from a couple of weeks ago but it wouldnt publish then so here it is now.
So we have had a pretty interesting week...
Caleb can sit up really well now (see photo) and he now knows how to sit up from his belly. He shows us that he can do it all day long and when he gets up there he does a jig and we all clap. He also has realized that he can splash in the tub-he could do it forever! So he has been keeping me busy. We gave him the gerber graduates pasta pick ups tonight and he made a mess but he loved that he could feed himself so it was worth it. We also got a mesh baby gate that goes in the big partition between our living and dining rooms. He has tested it and it seems to work well. Jack on the other hand hates it and protests on the dining room side if we are sitting on the couch. The kitchen is almost done, I will have to post a picture when the trim is up...we are having a really cold week and we dont want to stain it inside because of caleb and the pets so it may have to wait. Well thats about all that has been going on here so I will stop blabbing.

A Zoo, book, and angel tree gifts for the needy kids out there : Grandma Tonya
A Farm, books, Horton Hears a Who, rattle, a ford shirt like dads, and an ornament : Grandma Dawn and Grandpa Lloyd
A Cartoon Photo, Stocking and an ornament: MOM and DAD
Felt Balls : Uncle Aaron and Aunt Lorna
Moose : Great Grandma and Grandpa Schantz
Zip up hoodie : Great Aunt Cindy and Uncle Greg
$25 gift Card : Great Uncle Carl and Teresa
Bug Catcher: Priscilla
Babys first ornament : Joann Gilbert
College Money : Amanda
We had christmas here on christmas eve with grandpa lloyd, the grandmas and lorna and aaron. Amanda couldnt make it because we had an ice storm :(. On christmas morning we all opened our presents (dad, mom, you, and the grandmas) then you took a nap while we had a huge breakfast. Later after we all had had a nap and the grandmas had gone home we took you over to your great grandparents house in middleville and talked with them for a while, they didnt have anything going on much because of everyones schedule conflicts, but they usually have a big get together for the holidays. You also seen your great uncle randy and took some pictures with the family. You didnt even mind the little ankle biters!
You had a really good time and of course mom taped it all.
I think in the spring I am going to get some of the babies that I know over here for some play dates because whenever you see another kid you always reach out and want to play with them and their isnt anyone around here for you to play with, not that I want you to during flu season though....I am also beginning to plan your birthday party and I have found a really cute outfit for you too.
